Sustainability Policy
Sustainability is our core value which is underlined by our four principles:-
- Zero Waste
- Zero Packaging
- Zero Single Use Plastic
- Zero Carbon
We are working with our suppliers to push these principles as far up the supply chain as possible.
All the products we sell are from manufacturers with good sustainable policies.
Packaging - The limited packaging waste that comes into our business is all recycled with none going to landfill - we are working with our suppliers to reduce this to zero. All Liquid product containers are returned to the manufacturer. All the products we sell are either bottle / container / packaging exchange or refill on-site with no packaging. If it is packaged the customer should subsequently use our bottle exchange or refill service when empty. Bottle return products are returned to the manufacturer for re-use.
Energy - We are currently close to net zero carbon and this is achieved with all deliveries to our customers are in electric vehicles – we currently operate Nissan ENV200 full electric vans (except in emergencies and exceptional circumstances where a replacement electric vehicle is not available). The energy for electric vehicle charging and office/warehouse use, derives from a combination of on-site solar pv and/or a sustainable energy provider where possible.
Water – We use as little water in our business as possible but we are always seeking to reduce it further whilst maintaining the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards. Our policy of on-site refill of some products means it reduces the number of bottles and containers that we have to clean and sanitise returned containers, which enables our water use to be reduced. Bottle return products are sanitised using the minimum necessary water and energy.
